“A short, bald man—old for his 58 years—Akiyama Haruo was, despite his displeasing looks, a corporate leader who commanded the attention of his industry. First working in the research and development division of a major cosmetics manufacturer, Haruo soon found himself promoted to a top managerial position. Unburdened by a woman who might depend on him, he took risks that only bachelorhood could allow, and by 40, he had begun his own company. Working like a dog paid off for Haruo. Within a decade, this little man had built up a major cosmetics line, was running an operation with more than 150 employees, and had become president of Lady Luster, one of the country’s leading cosmetic firms.
The advertising was effective too. Word spread fast among the young women. And, it became time to shoot a new television commercial. It was there, on the shoot, that Haruo met Ohara Kana, the company model. Overwhelmed by the beauty emanating from her voluptuous body, all that little Haruo could do was to earnestly grasp Kana’s hand.
Before long, Kana’s message was being broadcast across the country: “Glisten with Lady Luster! And wrap a man around your finger!””
